Job description
As ‘Economy & Labour Market’ Advisor within our employers' organisation, you will be responsible for:
•
Ensuring a strong link with Beci's member federations and companies on these subjects;
•
Developing and putting forward proposals to strengthen the Region's economic policy and help our members meet the challenges of the labour market and talent recruitment;

Creating a favourable ecosystem for entrepreneurial development;
- Supporting sectoral policies;
- Changes in recruitment trends and the search for talent;
- The impact of artificial intelligence on HR operations and work organisation;
- ...
• synthesising and analysing data and trends;
• formulating policy recommendations and helping to defend the interests of employers, the middle classes and the self-employed in the Brussels Region in relation to the federal, regional, community and municipal levels;
• to support the Beci ‘Talents’ community, which brings together Beci members who are particularly interested and/or active in labour market topics.
Tasks and responsibilities
Analysis of the Region's economic trends and its employment market: Monitoring developments in economic and employment policies. Identifying opportunities and challenges for the businesses we represent.
Policy recommendations: Formulating recommendations based on the analyses and priorities of Beci members.
Advocacy: Defending the interests of employers, the middle classes and the self-employed and sectoral federations in formal and informal political dialogues with local authorities, the Government and Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region and the social partners.
Reports and publications: Drafting notes and statements to provide input for our members and federations and determining BECI's positions following the implementation of co-construction processes.
Leading the ‘Talents’ community: networking, creating partnerships and establishing a collaborative approach between the various members of the community and relevant Brussels stakeholders. Organising and participating in conferences, workshops and seminars. Ensuring links with other communities, in particular those linked to AI & ESG.
Requirements
Education: Master's degree in economics, business studies or a related field.
Experience: Relevant professional experience in the field of economics and/or the labour market. Experience in the world of politics is a valuable asset.
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of macroeconomic and microeconomic principles and the labour market. Good knowledge of the Brussels institutional landscape and of the various parties involved in the public debate on matters relating to the economy, employment and training.
Skills: Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data. Excellent written and oral communication skills in French, Dutch and English. Proactive and results-oriented working attitude. Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
